Mark Edward Woodward, 57, of Miami, passed away October 7, 2018 at his home in Miami. II Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mark was born January 13, 1961 in Fort Worth. He was reared in Borger where he attended Borger schools. Mark was very active in high school; he played baseball, ran track, and played football and received the honor of being in the “Who’s Who” in Texas Football. In addition to sports he participated in FFA and Rodeo, and graduated from Borger High School in 1979. He married Shenette Storts on July 6, 2001 in New Mexico. Mark started working construction with Phillips during his high school summers, and then entered into the Oil & Gas industry, working as a pipeliner for 40 years, which spanned many states from Texas to Alaska. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Borger. He had been a resident of Miami since 2007. He had a list of charities that he supported, including St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Salvation Army, Faith Missions, Orphan’s Promise and Hand of Hope all of which where important to him. Mark will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and he will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Shenette Woodward of the home; a daughter, Chelsea Marie Woodward of Roswell, New Mexico; grandson, Alec Aranda of Roswell, New Mexico; two stepsons, Robert Wagner and family of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Zachary Davis and family of Norman, Oklahoma; a stepdaughter, Taylor Woodward Cochrane and family of Roswell, New Mexico; a sister, Lee Ann Woodward Porter of Midland; a nephew, Colbey Porter of Midland; sister-in-law, Sherita Leary and husband Jerry and family in Yukon, Oklahoma; the Woodward and Sirman cousins in Oklahoma and Texas; and his hunting and fishing buddies and friends, Jeff Smith of Borger, Tracy Mitchell of Fritch, Alan Hicky of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Craig Harris of Midland. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Harriett Woodward; and his grandparents, Edward and Mabel Lehrling.
