Mary Ann Gifford, 70, of Lefors, passed away on July 1, 2017 in McLean. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Memorial Heights Cemetery of Lefors with Jon Watson, chaplain of Open Heart Hospice of Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mary Ann was born on January 1, 1947 in Hamilton. As a young girl her family moved to Pampa where she attended school. After school, she was a waitress where she met Millard Eudell Gifford and they married on April 20, 1965 in Panhandle. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Lefors where they resided permanently. They enjoyed many special years of companionship before he preceded her on May 28, 2010. Eventually, she went to work for the Lefors Independent School District and then at Lamar Elementary in Pampa, not to mention being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker to her family. Mary Ann was a proud member of the USS Raby Wives’ Auxiliary Club where she was active in arranging the annual reunion. She was also a member of the Blue Grass Music Association. Some of Mary Ann’s favorite things to do were to oil paint and quilt where she provided quilting for her grandchildren, other family, and friends. Additionally, you could usually find her playing skip-bo on Friday nights at Pickin Shack in Lefors. Mary Ann will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Nita Wallace and Donna Gifford both of Lefors; four grandsons, Aaron Gifford, Arthur Gifford, both of Lefors, Dyllan Wallace and wife Tianni of Pampa, and Dustin Wallace of Amarillo; two great-grandsons, Devin Wallace of Pampa and Holden Cadena of Green Bay, Wisconsin; a great-granddaughter, Addy Gifford of Pampa and other extended family. Mary was preceded by her parents, two brothers, James and Tracy Meeks; and by her son, Skeeter Bob Gifford.Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Special Notice: The family will have a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 6:00- 7:00 PM. After the graveside service, the family will receive friends at the home at 208 W. 8th in Lefors.
