Mary Marcella Horton

Mary Horton, 78, resident of the McLean Care Center and formerly of Miami, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in McLean.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mary was born on January 23, 1942 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Delphine and James Mitchell. She grew up and graduated school in Arkansas. After high school, she moved to Tulsa where she attended Draughon's Business College and met Leroy Kuykendall and started her family. She worked for several years for J. B. Hunt trucking and MetLife Insurance Company. She later moved to Miami to be closer to her family. Mary loved life and everyone around her. She had a contagious laugh that brightened anyone’s day and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents.

Her survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Boone of Miami, and Kelee Strong of Oologah, Oklahoma; three sisters, Merleen Bradford and husband Ben of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Carolyn Hulsey and Lori Cochran and husband Derrick, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; five granddaughters, Lacey Adcock, Taryn Long, Bailey Anderson,  Hannah Strong, and Madison Strong; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family.
