Mary K was born on May 4, 1948, in Amarillo, TX to Gibb and Morine Conner. She grew up and attended school in Quail, TX. Mary K would meet the love of her life, Billy “Bill” Clubb, Sr. at a drive-in at Wellington, TX and it was love at first sight. Shortly after they would marry on June 4, 1965, in Quail. It wasn’t long before they would start their young family, having three wonderful children, Debbie, Billy Jr., and Michelle. Bill preceded her in death on March 26, 1998, after almost 33 years of marriage.
Family and faith were the absolute foundation of Mary K Clubb’s life. Her faith was strong, always, but in the years of her husband’s, daughter’s, and her own medical problems, her faith was stronger and tougher than her cutest high heeled cowgirl boots. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Church of Christ wherever she lived. Her church and her customers were treated as family. She prayed, rejoiced, worried, and invested in each.
Mary K was in the beauty business. It didn’t hurt that she was ALWAYS perfectly put together; hair was big and beautiful, nails were bright and shiny, and she had on the cutest outfit in town. She worked many years and never wanted to retire, with her daughter and other beauticians that turned into her adopted daughters, at the Sharper Image Salon. In Guymon, she enjoyed her church, bridge and bunco groups, she loved to travel and shop, going to the movies and watching sports.
Mary K was the mom , granny, and nanny that, if possible, made every ball game, track meet, and activity of her children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren. We grieve, but with total assurance that Mary K is with her beloved Bill and at the feet of her Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Clarence and Bertha Blevins; a grandson, Ethan Mendenhall; and by several aunts and uncles.
Mary K is survived by two daughters, Debbie Martin and husband Joe of White Deer, TX, and Michelle Mendenhall and husband Sam of Watonga, OK; a son, Billy Clubb, Jr., and wife Julie of Quinter, KS; grandchildren, Kat Martin, Kayla Martin, Kody Martin, Hunter Martinez, Brice Martinez, Boomer Mendenhall, Axel Mendenhall, Katrina Topel and husband Mitchell, and Trenton Clubb; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Brianna, Zada, Emery, Adrian, and Zayden; two aunts; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
