Mary Lee Boyd McCracken, 92, of Pampa, passed away, February 24, 2021in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with Rev. Byron Williamson of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mary was born on November 16, 1928 in McLean to Thelma and James Stevens. As a young girl her family traveled quite a bit with James’ employment, but they eventually settled down in McLean. She attended school in McLean and graduated from the class of ’46. After high school she went to business school. After college, she married Arthur Boyd and they had two children and had over 40 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Mary worked in various industries and occupations which included working for a hospital, at First Baptist Church of McLean, First National Bank of McLean, the Variety Store, and handled payroll for the Marie Foundation for over 17 years. Mary would find love again when she met Jack Lismann and they were married for four years before he preceded her in death, and she found love once more when Mary married Arthur McCracken and they shared three years together before he preceded her in death.
Mary was long-time resident of Gray county living primarily in McLean but also living in Pampa. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of McLean and a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa where she found enjoyment singing in church. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and seeing new things. Mary was an avid reader, she loved music and playing all sorts of games and puzzles, but her family was the most important thing to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; three husbands, and by a sister, Jo Ann Sherrod.
Her survivors include her daughter, Jeree Oldham and husband Glenn of Lubbock; her son, Larry Boyd of Blanco; two granddaughters, Rachel Van Pelt and husband Bobby, and Kristen Yazbek and husband Nick, all of Amarillo; a grandson, Ian Oldham of Amarillo; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Blaylock of Amarillo; a brother, Jim Stevens and wife Jill of Denton; and other extended family.
