Mary Margaret Trout Quarles, 75, of Pampa passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in McLean.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with Paul Hathaway, deacon, officiating. Burial will follow in Mobeetie Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
As per the family’s request, facemasks will be required for Mary’s service.
On February 12, 1945, in Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Murel and Margaret Trout were blessed with a baby girl and Helen a new baby sister. She grew up on the family ranch in Hemphill County, just outside of Mobeetie. She graduated from Mobeetie High School. She married Winfred Don Quarles in October 1962. They lived in Mobeetie, until 1980 when they moved to Pampa. Mary worked as the Food service manager at Heard-Jones for 21 years. She and Don built their home in Angel Fire, New Mexico in 1998 and moved there in 2001. Mary worked at Valley Market in Angel Fire for 7 years. They moved back to Pampa in 2008.
Mary was a member of the First Methodist Church of Mobeetie. She was a leader for Wheeler County 4-H and Mobeetie FFA. She was her girl’s biggest fans while they played basketball in Mobeetie and never missed a game. She loved watching Kelley play baseball growing up. She was a leader for Gray County 4-H and Top O' Texas Stock Show Association. She and Don enjoyed following their kids and grandkids to all the stock shows.
She is preceded in death by her parents Murel and Margaret Trout, a sister Helen Marie Mixon on July 18, 2020 and son Kelley Quarles on July 24, 2005.
Survivors include her husband Winfred Don of the home, two daughters Donna and husband Kevin Crawford and Shonda Rucker all of Pampa. She was blessed with six grandchildren Meagan Crawford, Courtney Crawford, Cassie Winegeart, Kelby Rucker, Kellan Quarles, and Kelton Quarles; 4 Great Grandchildren; and many other family members.
The family would like to thank McLean Care Center and Kindred Hospice for the time and excellent care they gave our loved one.
