Mary Sue Hasse Schwab, 67, of Pampa, TX passed away on December 10, 2019 after extended illnesses.
Services will be 12:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Ken McIntosh, interim pastor, and Nancy Ruff, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mary was born September 15, 1952 in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in the class of 1971. She graduated from West Texas State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She was a very successful business secretary for several years at the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, Texas Highway Department, and George Warner Seed. She married Robert Schwab of Amarillo on August 28, 1976, and they were married for 43 years. One of her greatest personal accomplishments was raising her two daughters Linda and Sarah Schwab.
Mary was very active in the musical world, starting with playing the clarinet for the Pampa High School Band. One of her greatest musical accomplishments was achieving All-State Band Honors including second chair. She also played the organ and piano for several churches. Mary was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated caregiver to her parents as well as other family members and always took care of others before herself. Mary made a house a home by providing unconditional love and care to her family as a homemaker. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mommy, and daughter, with a host of special friends. Despite her many health issues, she never complained and always had a smile on her face. She is a precious angel who will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her mother Romelle “Peg” Hasse in 2005, her father Warren Louis Hasse in 2012, and her childhood dog Twinkle in 1974.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Schwab of Pampa, her daughters; Linda Schwab of Pampa and Sarah Schwab of Houston; her brother, John Hasse of Canyon; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Schwab and family friend Eloy Solano of Amarillo; her brothers-in-law, Jerry Schwab and wife Donna of Amarillo and Gary Schwab and wife Debbie of Amarillo; and her best friend, Marilyn Lee of Pampa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org, the First Presbyterian Church of Pampa, or the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-7:30 on Thursday December 12.
