Maylene Free

Maylene Free, 79, of Pampa, passed away Sunday December 9, 2018 in her home.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Maylene was born on October 13, 1939 in Hopewell, Oklahoma to Frank and Lillian Reynolds.  She married Billy Ray Free on December 6, 1954 in Sayre, Oklahoma and then settled in the Pampa area.  She was a beautician for 25 years and a homemaker to Billy and their children.  Billy preceded her in death on May 13, 2017.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Elizabeth Sunday school class.  She gave the gift of laughter to everyone she encountered.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Free and wife Kathy of Pampa and Coy Free of Pampa; two daughters, Lynn Miller and husband Marland of Pampa and Sherri Smith and husband Blane of Cedar Park; seven grandchildren, one step-grandchild and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday December 11, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
