Melinda Michelle Chandler Hillman was born to Sharon Brown and Fred Chandler on March 24, 1963. She made her journey home on June 29, 2020, with the sun shining on her face, surrounded by love.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Chaplain Larry Virnau officiating. Rosary will be 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 732 N. Nelson, Pampa, TX.
Melinda was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside and dedicated her life to helping others. She was a remarkable nurse for over 25 years and guided many tender souls along their journeys.
Melinda was someone who loved to love people. She was a gentle and patient mother to three children of her own and welcomed many other children into her arms and loved them unconditionally. She was a devoted wife and danced her way through life as a partner and friend with her husband for 37 years. One of her greatest joys and shining achievements in life was the gift of getting to be Granny to her two sweet boys. Melinda was also an amazing and loving sister, aunt, and friend. She touched the lives of so many, and we all grew because of the time she devoted tending to us.
Melinda is survived by her husband, Vincent Hillman; her son, Jason and wife Melissa Hillman; daughter, Emily and husband Christopher Nadeau, and daughter, Anna Hillman; her grandbabies, Tyson and Travis Hillman; her brother, Larry and wife Gina Chandler, brother, Danny and wife Patty Chandler, and brother, Mark and wife Dina Chandler; and many other brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Brenda McCullough, the Physical Therapy team at the Pampa Regional Medical Center, and the exceptional team of nurses at BSA Hospital in Amarillo for the wonderful care she received. And above all, would like to leave a reminder to stop and enjoy the smell of the flowers from time to time and to think of Melinda, in her garden, with the sun shining on her face.
Memorials may be sent to Paralyzed Veterans of America, P.O. Box 758589, Topeka, KS 66675-8589.
