Melissa was born on February 14, 1959 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Calvin and Berchie Button. When she was two years old her family moved to Oklahoma City. Melissa graduated from Meeker High School in the late 70’s. After graduation, Melissa married Max Wilson and became a stay-at-home mom. They were blessed with three boys, Barry, Zach, and Joey. Though they would later part ways they stayed a part of each other’s lives through their children. Melissa would get a second chance at love when she met Tom Clark. They were married on February 18, 2006. He passed just the day after her. She worked in the business office at Pampa Regional Medical Center for several years. Melissa was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church.

Melissa was a very kind and supportive person; she always saw the good in people and never gave up on the people she loved. Melissa enjoyed reading, traveling, and drinking coffee with friends. She was a devoted mother and loved her family dearly. Melissa would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was incredibly friendly and didn’t even know the meaning of the word stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Berchie Button; one sister, Kathleen Maier; brother, Lee Button; and one son, Barry “BJ” Wilson.

Melissa is survived by her two sons, Zach Wilson of Pampa and Joey Wilson of Abilene; three stepdaughters, Corinne Bach and husband Jack of Dixon, Tennessee, Penni Granat and husband Jerry of Amarillo, and Pamela Johnson and husband Jim of Plano; one stepson, Steve Clark of Woodward, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Paige Elizabeth Wilson and Taylor Leeanne Wilson; one sister, Laurel Mitchell and husband Tedd of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
