Mike Ditmore, 75, of Pampa, passed away on March 14, 2021 in Pampa.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Dale Meadows, officiating. Burial and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mike was born on September 18, 1945 in Pampa to Betty and Calvin Ditmore. He grew up and attended school and was long life resident of Pampa. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy. Mike met the love of his life, Linda Melzer while she was working, and they quickly eloped soon after on April 16, 1969 on Linda’s birthday in Pampa. In his younger years he did commercial trucking. He worked as a maintenance for the Pam Apartments and later became a machinist. As a machinist, he worked for Crall, Lee-Tex, Panhandle Industries, and National Oil Well. He liked to work with hands, specifically with wood. Mike also enjoyed watching Nascar and he especially like to travel with his wife to gamble in Clinton, OK. He will be remembered as a fun-loving man who like to joke and tease.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Brian Lee Ditmore.
His survivors include his wife, Linda Ditmore of the home; a son, Michael Ditmore and wife Michelle of Pampa; two granddaughters, Madison Cepero and husband Daniel of Carrollton, and Cierra Ditmore of Pampa; one grandson, Tyler Jones and girlfriend Elizabeth Tracy of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Tracy of Amarillo; three brothers, Calvin Ditmore and wife Ann of Baton Rouge, La, Joe Carney and wife Judy of Maryville, TN, and Jay Carney and wife Sandra of Vicksburg, MS; a sister, Dianna Brooks and husband Bud of Brentwood, TN; and other extended family.
