Michael "Mike" Hull

Michael “Mike” Hull, 66, of Skellytown, passed away November 25, 2021 at his home in Skellytown.

Celebration of life memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Bob Epperson an associate minister of Full Armor Fellowship Church, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the care of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Mike was born on July 29, 1955 in Ruidoso, NM to Willene and Dick Hull. Mike grew up and graduated school in New Mexico. After high school, he entered the construction and commercial painting industry. Mike would meet the love of his life, Wanell Garrison and they married on April 23, 1986, in Ruidoso. He would later own and operate his own painting business while in New Mexico. Mike and Wanell would live off and on in both New Mexico and Texas but later permanently settled in Skellytown in 2013. During his time in Texas, he worked for several years at Brock’s Maintenance at Phillips 66 in Borger.

He was a longtime and proud member of the Ruidoso Elks Lodge a membership that spanned 40 years. Mike really enjoyed the outdoors where he liked fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, and most recently found enjoyment working in his garden. But what brought him the most enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren and was he was close to his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy “Pete” Hull and Clay “Peso” Hull; and by a brother-in-law, Steve Garrison.

His survivors include his wife, Wanell Hull of the home; two sons, Joe Hull and girlfriend, Jessica Browning of White Deer, and Briar Hull and wife Chyanne White of Roswell, NM; three daughters, Wendy Hull and boyfriend Alex Schmidling, and Haley Hull, all of Skellytown, Leta Michelle Hull and boyfriend Blake Piedra of Canyon; six grandchildren, Tilly, William, Zaiden, Kelli, Alexis, and Amber; two sisters-in law, Wanda Rogers and husband Doug of Skellytown and Nancy Garrison of White Deer; four brothers-in-law, Walter Garrison and wife Beckie of Clovis, NM, Doyle Garrison of Diana, Cory Garrison and wife Mary of  Brownwood, and Cody Garrison and wife Cece of Snyder; close family friend, Dominque Hickman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
