Michelle was born December 22, 1969 in Lubbock to Don and Paula Whitney. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1988. While she was in high school, she worked at Community Daycare for a few years with her aunt Kim Winegeart. After high school, Michelle moved to Borger and began attending Frank Phillips Community College. During her time in Borger she worked for Fish Construction at the Phillips Plant. Later she transferred to West Texas State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science in 1992. She obtained her master’s degree in environmental engineering and engineering certification while working at Pantex. Michelle was always looking to better herself and her job, so she accepted a position at the nuclear plant in Los Alamos, New Mexico. She would work there until 2019 when she returned to Pampa, where she was a Pampa High School science teacher. Michelle made her career her life, she was all in and gave her best.
When she was not working, she enjoyed swimming, especially taking water exercises, dance class, hiking in the mountains, and watching her nieces and nephews do their activities.
