Mickey Lee, 68, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Woody Woodrow officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Mickey was born February 6, 1955 in Hugoton, Kansas to Lacy and Belle Lee. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1973. After high school, he attended a computer school in Dallas and then returned to Pampa. Mickey began working at M.E. Moses and eventually was the assistant manager for several years. Mickey then decided to continue his education by attending Abilene Christian College. He earned his bachelor’s degree and went on to receive his master’s in education degree. While he was in Abilene, he met and eventually married Debbie Nail in 1981. They had two children while in Abilene, Cameron and Shanna. Mickey worked at TSTI in Sweetwater, as a computer instructor, for five years. He and his good friend, Woody Woodrow, were in a comedy/band called Cripple Creekers. They entertained with jokes and singing. Eventually Mickey, moved to Redman, Washington to go to work for Microsoft. He worked in the marketing division for 10 years. He was active in the Microsoft Microtones Choir, a quartet called, Rearrangers, and was a part of the Dicken’s Carolers Choir. Mickey also taught computers classes to seniors at the King County Library. In 2009, Mickey returned to Pampa. He has always had a love for music, filling in as song leaders at most churches he attended including Bellevue Church of Christ in Washington and Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. Mickey was a talented musician, playing the guitar, piano, banjo, and of course singing. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, woodworking, and playing tennis. Mickey seemed to be the leader in his family, as he was very organized in everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jenny Welch; and a brother, Andy Lee.
Survivors include his daughter, Shanna Young and husband Jeren of Everett, Washington; a son, Cameron Lee and wife Sarah of Monroe, Washington; sister, Linda Carlton and husband Marvin of Pampa; two brothers, Doug Lee and wife Kellie of Burleson and Robin Lee and wife Donna Marie of Franklin; four grandchildren, Ethan Lee, Connor Lee, Elise Lee, and Sailor Lee; and a brother-in-law, Randall Welch of Pampa.
