Nadean Morris

Nadean Morris, 81, of Pampa, passed away on December 22, 2024, in Amarillo.

A memorial graveside will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Baca County, Colorado. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. 

Nadean was born on November 3, 1943, in Lamar, Colorado to AJ “Jim” and Laura Streeter. She spent her earliest years at the Ford ranch, in Colorado, until her father took work in Texas, at the Lips ranch, in Roberts County in 1952. In 1957, and as a teenager, the family moved to the Tandy Ranch on the Canadian River in Roberts County. Nadean and her sisters attended the Canadian school. After graduating, she enrolled and later finished school at Draughon’s Business College in Amarillo. She would meet Floyd Morris, and they married on December 9, 1962, in Canadian, and they just recently celebrated their 62 years of marriage before her passing.

Nadean would enter the Criminal Justice profession, a career that spanned many years and included the towns of Childress and Pampa. After retiring, she loved to travel with her husband in their RV, where they spent time in many different destination spots. Nadean loved seeing the bluebonnets. However, her time in Colorado every year going fishing was her favorite. Nadean will be remembered as a kind, accepting, and family-oriented woman putting others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Nadean is survived by her husband, Floyd Morris of the home; a daughter, Amy Lewis of Pampa; two sons, James Morris of Wichita Falls, and Steven Morris and wife Amy of Amarillo; two sisters, Lonita Beaty of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Noveta Stephenson and husband Delane of Canadian; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and other extended family.
