Neva Jo (Routon) Fliger, 71, of Borger, died September 22, 2017 in Pampa. Memorial graveside services will be 1:30 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Westlawn Cemetery in Borger with Rev. Richard Bartel of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Fliger was born February 10, 1946 in Soper, Oklahoma, to Neva and Alvin Routon. As a young girl her family moved to Texas and settled in Borger. She attended schools in Borger and graduated from Borger High School in 1964. After graduation, she enrolled in cosmetology school. She would work as a hairdresser in Borger and Pampa for over 50 years, retiring in 2012. She married Fred Fliger on December 7, 1991 in Borger. He preceded her in death in July of 2017. Neva was an avid reader and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to extend their thanks to nurses: Pam, Christi, Cassie, Belinda, Linda, Terri, and other BSA Hospice staff for their loving care of Neva. Survivors include three sons, Mike Kelsey and wife Dronda of Pampa, Jimmy McDaniel and wife Jennifer of Whitewright, and Kent McLaughlin and wife Debbie of Mobeetie; two sisters, Nancy Abraham and husband Alan of Amarillo and Kay McElreath and husband Bobby of Canyon; a brother, Clint Routon and wife Susan of Amarillo; special friends, Larry Franklin and wife Linda of Borger; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Wesley McElreath.
