Nohelia Saldierna, 69, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 with her family by her side.
Vigil and rosary will be 4:00 PM Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.
Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 17, 2025 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Guadalupe Mayorga officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Nohelia was born March 28, 1955 in Las Tuzas, Mexico to Matias and Maria Castillo. She moved to Roswell, New Mexico in 1971 and worked as a housekeeper for a ranch that she lived on. Nohelia married Feliciano “Chano” Saldierna in 1975. They moved to Pampa in 1980. She began working for the hotel as a housekeeper and continued for over 20 years. Nohelia continued her housekeeping duties at Pampa Nursing Center and worked there for over 10 years before she retired in 2022. She was a hard worker and was dedicated to her job.
Nohelia was an active and longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She loved her family dearly and always cherished her time together. She enjoyed cooking and attending sporting events to support her family and all their activities. Her smile and hugs were the best, she was always happy and had a positive attitude. She would always hug her family when they left and told them “pórtese bien”. Nohelia was a loving mother and wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Juan Castillo.
Survivors include her husband, Feliciano “Chano” Saldierna of the home; daughter, Veronica Garduno and husband David of Pampa; two sons, Juan Ramon Saldierna and wife Yessi of Dumas and Angel Matias Saldierna and Elizabeth Freudenrich of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Sebastian Garduno, Xzavier Saldierna, Manny Hernandez, Larry Hernandez, Arnold Hernandez, Julian Hernandez, Brienna Saldierna, and Elijah Freudenrich; three sisters, Guadalupe Herra and Guerra Castillo both of New Mexico and Magdalena Castillo of Mexico.
