Norman S. Gilson

Norman S. Gilson, 71, of Groom, passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2019.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Groom with Bobby Pool, deacon at First Baptist Church of Groom, officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa.  Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. 

Mr. Gilson was born January 29, 1948 in Dixon, Missouri to William and Ester Gilson.  He was a retired US Airforce veteran serving his country proudly for 22 years and had served a tour in Vietnam.  His three sons were his pride and joy and the light of his life.  Norman enjoyed fishing and hunting when he wasn’t working. He will be missed and loved forever.  He was the best Poppy! He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his 3 sons, Steven Gilson and girlfriend Stepheny and Stuart Gilson and wife Kimberly all of Groom, and Matthew Gilson and wife Debbie of Tampa, Florida; a grandson, Adam Nittler; 4 sister and 4 brothers.

A visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Groom.
