Oliver Ben “OB” Elkins, 89, of Pampa, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Pampa.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Rev. Ed Sattesahn, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Elkins was born May 4, 1928 in Eldorado, OK to Joe Tom and Rose Elkins. He spent 73 years with the love of his life, Jean Stone. They were married on November 18, 1944 in Sayre, OK. He loved the oil field and was a heavy equipment operator for Lane Wells, City Service, and Magnolia. After 23 years with Trans Western he retired in 1983. O.B. spent many hours driving the bus with the Shriners. He was a 65 year member of Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 and a 60 year member of First Assembly of God Church. He was always there when you needed help.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Perry Joe Elkins and Marvin Lee Elkins.
OB is survived by his wife Jean of the home; one daughter, Suzan Anderson and husband Richard of Pampa; Two sons, Monty Elkins and wife Pat and Marcus Elkins both of Pampa; Three granddaughters, Melissa Walters and husband Zane, Monica Hutchinson and husband Ethan and ReDonn Woods and husband Keith, all of Pampa; Five great granddaughters; Brittany Walters, Bailee Walters, Autumn Woods, McKenzie Woods, and Kennedey Woods; Three great grandsons, Reece Hutchinson, Lucas Hutchinson, and Tyler Hutchinson.
