Oliver A. Huffhines, 90, of Pampa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 14, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Jimmye Cole of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Huffhines was born August 20, 1927 in Whittenburg. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1944. He married Doris Exline on June 3, 1949 in Pampa. Oliver was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a self-employed regulatory consultant, retiring in 1992. Oliver was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He taught swimming for the Boy Scouts at Pampa Youth and Community Center for many years, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time at the family cabin in Colorado. Survivors include his wife, Doris Huffhines of the home; three daughters, Kathy Baskett and husband Harvey of Amarillo, Debbie Menge and husband Dave of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Laurie Webster and husband Mark of Amarillo; a son, Steve Huffhines of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Baskett and wife Allison, Josh Baskett and wife Mindy, Aaron Webster and wife Karlee, Stephanie Bennett and husband Matthew, Lisa Menge, Jared Webster and wife Kelsi, Jennifer Huffhines and Ben Menge and wife Sarah; and 12 great grandchildren. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Q. and Alberta Huffhines; a brother, Tom Huffhines; and a sister, Doris Scott. Memorials may be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministry, 500 N.
