Brad was born on January 13, 1936 in Durant, Oklahoma to Earl and Clara Perkins Bradford. He attended school in Oklahoma and graduated from Atoka High School. After graduating, Brad took a job in construction with his best friend and cousin, Jasper Cross. This job would eventually take him to Pampa where he helped to build many houses and Austin Elementary. Brad met the love of the life, Betty Walker, during this time and they were married in March of 1957. He then worked in the oilfield for Skelly Oil Company which later became Getty Oil Company and finally, Texaco. Brad worked hard in the oilfield to provide for his family for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ since the early 1950's. Brad often volunteered his time to help at the church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, picking pecans, collecting marbles, and making walking sticks for family and friends. Brad also enjoyed traveling and would often talk about the trip he and Betty had taken to Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Clara Perkins Bradford; his wife, Betty Clay Bradford; one sister, Ann Bryant; his son, Brent Bradford; and his best friend and cousin, Jasper Cross.

Brad is survived by three children, Valerie Graham and husband Ty Pierce of Pampa, Tiffany Bradford and husband Bear Raymo of Texhoma, Oklahoma; and Amber Bradford of Pampa; four grandchildren, Kallie Graham, Niklas Graham and wife Heather, Charlee Graham, and Makala Graham; four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Madilynn, Vanessa, and DJ; one sister, Dorothy Howard; and numerous nieces and cousins.
