Orval Benjamin Schiffman

April 12, 1934 — March 1, 2025

Pampa, Texas

Orval Benjamin Schiffman, Jr., 90, also known as “Bob” by family, friends, and customers, was met at the pearly gates by his beloved wife, Geneva and his dog, Katie Bell in the early morning hours of March 1, 2025.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jim Fox, pastor of Howardwick Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Bob was born on April 12, 1934 to Orval Benjamin Schiffman, Sr and Ethel Poe Greenway Schiffman. He had two brothers, James A Schiffman of Temecula, CA and Carl J Schiffman of Ft. Worth, TX. He spent all of his 90 years living, working and raising a family in Pampa.

Bob worked his whole life in the oilfield repair business. On July 1, 1966, he and Geneva started their business Schiffman Machine Company which they ran together as a team until her passing on January 9, 2015. Bob was a master machinist serving customers all across the United States and stuck with his trade lasting through all the ups and downs in the Oil Industry. He was getting ready to start his 59th year of business.

Bob had a giving heart and didn't know a stranger. He was also very private and preferred to stay out of the "lime light" and give help out of the public view not wanting recognition. He was a 50-year member of the Pampa, Texas-Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge #1381; a past President, Director and Life Member of the Top O' Texas Rodeo Association. Bob loved fishing and was a past 806 Region Director of the Texas B.A.S.S. Federation for many years. He loved to spend his weekends going to Oklahoma and playing the slot machines - Cha Ching! Bob also enjoyed a good margarita!

Bob is survived by two daughters, Carla Schiffman of Pampa, Betty Janet Schiffman and husband Will Dekle of Childress; three sons, Matthew Schiffman and wife Missy, and Benjamin (Benny) Schiffman and wife Cathy all of Pampa, and Bobby J. Schiffman and wife Dianna of Amarillo; eight grandkids and their spouses, 15 greatgrandkids; his two brothers and a sister-in-law, Emma Bowers of Miami, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family scattered across the United States.

Bob will be missed for his spirit, knowledge, compassion, loving heart and the great man that he was.

Memorial donations can be made to the Pampa Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), PO Box 2095, Pampa TX 79066-2095 or to a favorite charity.
