Pansy Alice Bryant, 88, of Pampa, passed away on September 10, 2023, at home with her family by her side.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of McLean Methodist Church, officiating. A private burial will be held at the Alanreed cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Mrs. Bryant was born on February 22, 1935, in Alanreed to William and Vera Castleberry. She attended and graduated from school in Alanreed. Pansy has been a life-long Gray county resident. She married James F. “Sonny” Bryant on January 30, 1952, in Clovis, NM.
Pansy was an entrepreneurial woman who ran several businesses that included the Tiger’s Den in McLean, the Black Gold Restaurant in Pampa, and even at one time, a station and curio shop in Shamrock. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, garage sales, and collecting oversize earrings. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Pansy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years in 1995; two sons, James H. Bryant in 2009, and Louis Dion Bryant in 2023.
She is survived by her two daughters, April Renee Brummett and Skyla Bryant, both of Pampa; a grandson, Bobby Glenn Brummett and wife Ashley of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Whitney Davis and husband James of Pampa; and five great-grandchildren.
