Patricia Price Roberson

November 25, 1931 — April 13, 2019

Patricia Price Roberson, 87, of Dallas, passed away April 13, 2019 in Dallas.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 20, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, with Rev. Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be 3:30 PM Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Born to W.N. and Maxine Price in Dalhart, Patricia Price Roberson was a true Texan through and through. She was the descendant of pioneers who settled in the panhandle and never left. Her grandparents, Bertie and W.L. Price and Rhea and Billy Wanser, all of whom had a strong presence in her life, were in farming, as well as banking and the drugstore business, securely anchoring her roots to the Texas panhandle. Patricia was raised by Maxine and Dr. Karl Pieratt in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School where she was a cheerleader for the Pampa Harvesters, as well as Ward-Belmont School in Nashville, Tennessee.

Patricia embodied the independent spirit and determination of her family's legacy. She had a strong sense of patriotism. She volunteered for various state and national elections. She was very active in NARO and took several trips to Washington D.C. to meet with legislators on behalf of royalty owners. In addition to her commitment to civic duty, Patricia was also known for her generosity, especially toward the homeless, the wayward, refugees and orphaned children.

Patricia was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, acting as both an elder and a leader of women's bible studies. Her faith played a central role in her life and she poured that faith into the lives of others too.

Patricia was a wonderful cook and hostess. She loved entertaining family and friends, filling her home on Lamar Street with music, laughter and the best chili chalupas in the panhandle.

Patricia was lively and had a sparkling sense of humor. She loved to laugh, and her laugh was infectious. She charmed everyone she met, from Amarillo to Italy, where her habit of saying. “Grazi y'all!” delighted her Roman hosts.

Patricia enjoyed traveling around the U.S., visiting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, touring the fall foliage on the east coast with friends and especially admiring the flora and fauna in La Jolla, California, where she spent a great deal of time with her grandparents as a young woman.

Patricia was one of a kind and while her family takes comfort in knowing she has joined her heavenly father as one of His faithful servants, she will be dearly missed.

Patricia leaves behind a sister Karen Jackson; two brothers, Will Price and Kurt Pieratt; as well as five children, Debbie Lanier, Bill Roberson and wife Barbara, Scott Roberson and wife Melissa, Karla Man and husband Jim, and Susan Shuemake and husband Jimmy; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Crown of Texas Hospice Foundation; or Amarillo Children's Home, 3400 Bowie Street, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
