Patsy (Pat) Porter, 90, of Pampa, passed away April 16, 2025, at her home, with her family by her side.
Celebration of life services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Pat was born on September 30, 1934, in Pampa to Guy and Pansy Cargile. She grew up and graduated from high school in Pampa. After high school, Pat would meet the love of her life, Roy Porter, Jr. and they married in 1958. They would welcome three wonderful children into the world during this union. Pat would spend most of her time helping to raise their children, a job that she took much pride in. Throughout her life, Pat always invested her time in her kids and in her church, supporting youth group activities, teaching Sunday School and providing administrative help with her family’s church wherever the family went.
Pat and Roy would travel extensively with Roy’s career, they lived in various places that included Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas. In 1989, they would return to Pampa to enjoy their retirement. Roy would later precede her in death in 2016. While in Pampa, Pat was a faithful member at First Baptist Church, continuing to volunteer her time and talents around many church activities. Pat was a talented woman who would create many types of crafts, she liked to sew, and she would take anything and make it better. She will be remembered as an energetic and full of life woman who stressed responsibility and hard work to her family. Pat will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband.
Pat is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Porter Chumbley and husband Todd, and Cheray Wolken; a son, Mark Porter and wife DeAnna; four grandchildren, Leanne Jeffcoat and husband T.J., Jessica Jones and husband P.J., Chad Porter and wife Ashley, and Michaela Wolken; great grandchildren, Brayden, Faith, JohAnna, Adeline, Cora, and Joonie; and other extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Tonya Garza, Damiana Garza, Kelly Osborne, and Jessica Watson for their support and kindness providing loving care.
