Paul Wayne King, 52, of Amarillo, formerly of Pampa, passed away on May 7, 2018 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jimmye Cole of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Paul was born into a loving home on August 8, 1965 in Pampa to his proud parents Golda and Alvin King. Paul attended school in Pampa and a long-time of resident of Pampa before he moved to Amarillo. He lived in Amarillo for a short time before moving back home in Pampa but eventually he would have to return to Amarillo for his care. Paul had a lot of interests and activities. He loved animals and he especially liked pigs, the pinker the better. He was a collector of all types of hats, shoes, and loved to find a different wrist watch when he could. When he was hungry, BBQ and lemon cake were his favorites but it wasn’t complete without his Dr. Pepper in hand. He liked to sing and would jump in anytime he heard music playing. Paul was a proud participant in the Special Olympics and earned many awards for his participation in track & field and bowling. When he was in Pampa he liked to visit the Pampa Sheltered Workshop. Paul will be remembered as a loving and very affectionate man who never met a stranger and everyone received a warm hug when he met them. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara Sparks and Donna Anderson; his brother, Alvin Warren King; his nephew, Chris Brawley; and by his great-nephew, Ethan Anderson. Survivors include his two sisters, Carolyn Miller of Pampa and Debbie Mojica of Houston; by his brother, Calvin King and wife Sharon of Abilene; by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
