Petra V. Campos, 86, of San Antonio and formerly of Pampa, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 in San Antonio.
Mass will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Pampa, Texas with Rev. Taylor Elzner officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Rosary to be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.
Petra was born in Runge, Tx on March 7, 1934 to Cleofas and Leandra Villasana. Petra married Alfredo T. Campos of Gregory, Tx. on November 11, 1950 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Petra moved to San Antonio after retiring from The Community Day Care Center in Pampa where she worked for almost 20 years. Petra enjoyed her employment there where she was able to care for many children of the community and a few of her own grandchildren. Petra was a devout member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Petra's favorite pastimes were building memories with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Petra was very open to participating in all activities that involved family and friends. These memories were usually shared over homecooked traditional meals. She was passionate about spending time with her loved ones.
She is survived by 11 children; Juan Antonio Campos of Canyon, Tx., Mary and husband Robert Falcon of Wittmann, Az., Rachael and husband Sam Leal of Lamesa, Tx., Alfredo Campos Jr. of Lamesa Tx., Rodolfo Campos of San Antonio, Tx., Leandra and husband Isidro Muro of San Antonio, Tx., Hector Campos of San Antonio, Tx., Guadalupe Campos of Lamesa, Tx., Edelmira and husband Noe Dominguez of Amarillo, Tx., Janie and husband Donald Peña of Canyon Lake, Tx., and Jacob Campos of Amarillo, Tx.; 43 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren; and 2 siblings: Juanita Villasana of San Antonio, Tx., and Agapito Villasana of Dinuba, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo T. Campos; and her parents: Cleofus and Leandra Villasana; and 2 brothers: Francisco and Jose Luz Villasana.
