Rae Anne Darrow, 20, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
Due to our current health conditions in our community and government regulations for small gatherings there will be a private family service in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Burial will be in White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. A celebration of life service will be as soon as it is safe to have large crowds.

Rae was born on August 9, 1999 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was a 2018 Pampa High School graduate and went on to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Rae had just received her acceptance letter this past week to nursing school. During high school, she was actively involved in choir and served as secretary her senior year, show choir her junior and senior year, and she earned The Senior Girl Award at the choir banquet. Throughout her career in high school choir she was involved in all of the Pampa High School musicals. Rae played tennis her junior and senior year, and served as captain her senior year and went on to earn The Fighting Heart Award. During her senior year she won the girls doubles district championship and was a double regional qualifier. Rae was also a member of the Lady Harvester Softball Team her freshman and sophomore years. Other high school accolades included being named Pampa Lions Club Sweetheart, Pampa High School Homecoming Queen, SADD President, FCA President, NHS Officer, and she was awarded The Coach Polasek Scholarship. She was very active in Briarwood Church youth group and was on the youth worship team. She was a member of Briarwood Church where she taught Sunday School for three years. While at college, she was a member of Eta Lota Sigma and served as a residential assistant.
Rae had a deep love for her Lord and Savior and loved to share her testimony with everyone she met. She had contagious smile and would light up a room with her personality. Rae had a loving and caring heart for her friends and her family, and she will be missed by many.
Rae's legacy will live on through her selfless act of being a tissue and organ donor through Life Share in Oklahoma.
Survivors include her brother, Cy Darrow of White Deer; her mother, Jodi Ferguson of White Deer; her dad, Don Darrow of Elk City, Oklahoma; her grandmothers, “Moe” Vicky Goucher of White Deer and Dorris Darrow of Elk City, Oklahoma; her Grandparents, Sandy and Anita Ferguson of Paris; her aunts and uncles, Kim and Kerry Ballard of White Deer and their sons, Zach and wife Mandi Ballard and their 3 daughters Leighton, Kaylee and Chloe Ballard and Trevor Ballard and wife Andrea Ballard and their baby Rylee Kate Ballard all of White Deer , Cindy and Ernie Sheets and their children; Casey Sciacca and wife Mary and their baby Sheridan, Emma Sheets, and Lacy and her husband Kyle Hewitt all of Canyon; aunt and uncle, Natalie and Dan Root and their 2 daughters Ripley and Jaidyn Root all of Canyon; aunts and uncles, Jerry and Beth Myers of Cochiti Lake, New Mexico, Dana Darrow of Albuquerque, New Mexico, uncle Kelly Darrow and wife Shirley of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Cousins, John Pinner and son Mac of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by a host of friends and only God could count that high. Rae knew everyone everywhere and loved them all.
Rae is preceded in death by her “Grandy” Loyd Darrow and her Great grandmother, Mary Wiseman.
