Ramiro Ponce, 51, of Pampa, passed away on November 24, 2017 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Pampa with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Ramiro was born on April 21, 1966 in Corpus Christi to Corina and Jose Ponce. He spent some of his early childhood in Robstown before his family moved to Pampa, where he attended school and graduated from PHS class of 84’. Ramiro was a longtime resident of Pampa. He worked in the grocery business for over 20 years, working at Albertsons, Randy’s Food Store and Food Bonanza. He eventually started his own business, Shine Brite where he had owned and operated for the last 15 years. Ramiro married the love of his life, Norma Martinez, on March 11, 2017 in Canadian. He was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a current member of the First United Methodist Church of both Pampa and Canadian. Ramiro was a Jeep enthusiast and was member of the Black Sheep Off Road Club. He was a passionate Dallas Cowboys and sports fan. Ramiro’s greatest love was his whole family and especially his grandchildren. He will always be thought of as a fun loving and generous man who put others before himself. Above all he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend, and he will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Norma Ponce of the home; four daughters, Brandi Jo Sanchez and husband Mike of Amarillo, Amanda Marie Graham and husband Eddie of Pampa, Janie Leigh Ponce and Brian Fuller of Pampa, and Erika Araceli Sanchez and husband Daniel David of Canadian; two sons, Marcos Trevino and Isaac Andres Trevino, both of Canadian; his parents, Jose M. and Corina Ponce of Pampa; two brothers, Ruben Ponce and Ramon Ponce, both of Pampa; four sisters, Rosario Ponce of Amarillo, Rita Ponce and wife Stefanie of Pampa, Rachel Ponce of Pampa, and Rebecca Ponce of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ramiro was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ponce; and grandparents, Salvador and Guadalupe Martinez and Jose and Carolina Ponce.
