Randy Mitchell, 63, of Amarillo and formerly of Pampa, passed away on April 11, 2021 in Amarillo.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 16, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Rick Pearson, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Randy was born March 10, 1958 in Pampa to Henry and Janice Mitchell. He attended Pampa High School in the class of 1976. After high school he worked for Chase Oil & Gas for several years before going to work at Cabot Carbon Black, where he worked for 17 years. Randy moved to Amarillo in 2005 to help his mother, Janice. While in Amarillo, he worked for the City of Amarillo for 8 years, retiring in 2018 due to his health condition. Randy was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed fishing with his grandpa Jay and son. He had genuine concern for others and would help anyone in need. Randy loved his family and spending time with them, he especially loved being Papa Randy to his grandson, Cole.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents, J.C. and Winnie Flowers.
Survivors include his son, Zachary Cole Mitchell of Amarillo; 2 brothers, John Mitchell and wife Lisa of Pampa and Chris Mitchell and wife Becky of Sanger; his grandson, Cole Mitchell of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
