Raul Bowers

Raul Bowers, 68, of Pampa, died April 5, 2018 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Bowers was born April 4, 1950 in Mexico City. He graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock in 1968, and graduated from Texas Tech with a BA in history in 1973. Raul had been a resident of Pampa since 1979. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 33 years, retiring in 2009. He married Kelley on July 31, 1993. Raul was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and a member and past president of the Pampa Kiwanis Club.

He loved to read, golf, and bowl. He loved all types of cars, and was very picky about his cars, making sure they were immaculate.   Raul loved being around his family and friends. His children were his pride and joy and he always attended their functions. He loved being PaPa to his grandchildren. Raul was accepting of people as they were. He and Kelley enjoyed antique shopping as they traveled. His dog Princess kept him busy.

Survivors include his wife, Kelley Bowers of the home; two daughters, Misti Bowers of Amarillo, and Danielle Warren and husband Chris of Fort Worth; a son, Kohl Bowers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three stepchildren, Rebecca Robison and husband David, Anne Gaddis, and James Gaddis and wife Linda, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; his father, Forrest Bowers of Lubbock; a sister, Lisa Harbert and husband Roger of San Antonio; two brothers, Jimmy McDavid, and Fred Bowers and wife Connie, all of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raul was preceded in death by a daughter, Jenny Bowers; and his mother, Tila Bowers.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1981, Pampa, Texas 79066-1981.
