Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5:30-7:00 PM.

Bob was born July 29, 1941 in Phoenix, Arizona to Fred and Lou Hudson. His family moved around as he was growing up, living in Victorville, California, Cucamonga, California, and Phoenix, Arizona. In 1964, Bob was drafted by the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. On September 6, 1969, his life changed forever. Bob was led to salvation in Phoenix, Arizona, by Allen Wingo as he put his faith and trust in his Lord Jesus Christ and asked him to forgive him of all of his sins. He truly became a new creature in Christ as God delivered him from his alcohol addiction. From that day forward, he began serving the Lord. While attending Midway Baptist Church, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Hess, and they were married on September 11, 1970. As Bob continued to grow in the ministry, he was even privileged to pastor Midway Baptist Church in 1972. He later started Victory Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ. In 1980, Bob and Marilyn moved their family to Bloomfield, New Mexico, to pastor Bloomfield Independent Baptist Church, and then in 1987 to Shawnee, Oklahoma, to pastor Maranatha Baptist Church. In 1993, they moved to Pampa to serve as the pastor at Bible Baptist Church. Bob retired after 25 years in 2018. He loved Bible Baptist Church and all of the people. He continued to be a member and was honored to have his son, Paul, be his pastor. Bob continued to teach and preach when he was called upon, even with all of his health conditions. Though Bob had stage 4 COPD/Emphysema, and had his leg amputated in 2023, he still preached from his wheelchair using oxygen. Through the years, Bob served as Chaplain of Phoenix Gospel Mission while he lived in Phoenix, an Evangelist traveling and preaching at other churches, and he also volunteered at the Jordan/Baten Unit Prison Ministry where he would teach a weekly Bible study. He had a passion to share the Gospel. He wanted everyone to know how they could be saved and have their sins forgiven. His favorite Bible verses were Psalm 102:18-20, “This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;” He viewed himself as “A Prisoner Set Free.” He went on numerous mission trips to places like Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Ukraine, Uganda, Egypt, and Israel. Bob had a kind personality and enjoyed visiting with people. His trick with “Bartholomew the Church Mouse” was always his favorite to show to people. Bob was proud of his family and loved them dearly. Bob had many hobbies which included wood working, fishing, and drawing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Vestes Reid; two sisters, Delia and Laura; and a brother, Leroy. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Catherine Hudson.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn L. Hudson of the home; four sons, Philip Hudson and wife Shawna of Spearman, Matthew Hudson and wife Johanna of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joseph Hudson and wife Kim of Brentwood, California, and Paul Hudson and wife Amanda of Pampa; daughter, Esther Cantrell and husband Karl of Summit, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren, Anna Wynn and husband Nolan, Leah Hudson, Phil Hudson, Stephen Hudson, Daniel Hudson and wife Anna, Rachel Hudson, Deborah Hudson, Lydia Hudson, Timothy Hudson, Victoria Hudson, Evelyn Hudson, Nathaniel Hudson, Madison Hudson, Samuel Cantrell, Chloe Cantrell, Elijah Cantrell, and Malachi Cantrell and a great grandchild on the way.
