Robert “A.J.” Adrian, 62, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Amarillo.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
A.J. was born February 20, 1958 in Denville, New Jersey and he attended schools in Pima, Arizona. In the early 80’s he made his way to Texas. A.J. worked for Amarillo Cottonseed and Vega Sand & Gravel for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and big trucks as well as driving eighteen- wheeler trucks. He loved his girls with all of his heart and his grandchildren even more. His witty comments and cantankerous ways will especially be missed by all. A.J. was his girl’s hero and best friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a great grandson, and grandson, Blake Matthews.
Survivors include his life partner, Clorene “Cookie” Ruthrauff of the home; 5 daughters, Leah Perry of Kress, Rosalin Middleton and husband Kris of Pampa, Brandi Bell and husband Gary and Georgia Mae all of Pima, Arizona, and Karen Adrian of Texas City; a son, David Perry of Rosharon; 2 sisters, Michelle Cummings of New Jersey and Linda Gorth and husband David of Florida; 21 grandchildren which includes Erin, who took special care of A.J.; numerous great grandchildren, and his best friends, Slim Stone of Amarillo and Sherry York of Kress.
