Robert E. "Bob" Morris

Robert E. ”Bob” Morris, Sr., 86, of Pampa, passed away November 19, 2017 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2017, at First Christian Church, with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Morris was born October 15, 1931 in Pampa to Robert and Pattie Morris. He was a 1950 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Texas Tech University. Bob joined the U. S. Navy, serving in the 7th Fleet in the Mediterranean during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he moved to Pampa in 1954 to work for the Texas Department of Transportation, retiring as an engineer tech 5 after 40 years of service. Bob married Sammie Wood on June 9, 1962 in Pampa. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop. He was most proud of being an A-1 babysitter to his granddaughters. Bob was a deacon at First Christian Church, a member of the Bethany Bible class, and completed his Walk to Emmaus. Survivors include his wife, Sammie Morris of the home; a son, Robert E. “Eddie” Morris, Jr., of Paris, Texas; a sister, Sydna Doggett and husband Gene of Amarillo; and two granddaughters, Ebby Morris of San Antonio, and Miranda Morris of Paris, Texas. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Youth Group, 1633 N. Nelson, Pampa, Texas 79065.
