Robert Holland Westbrook, 79, of Claude, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Claude.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Claude with Jess Little, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Holland was born on June 10, 1942 in Canyon to Robert Epps and Martha Helen Holland Westbrook. He attended school in Claude and was a 1960 graduate of Claude High School. Holland began working at John Deere in Amarillo after graduation. He married Phyllis Crownover on June 16, 1979 in Claude. Holland later worked at Texas Tech Farm and Ag Research before becoming a ranch hand and cook on Ed and Newton Harrell's ranch. He then worked at Claude ISD as a bus driver and custodian. Holland worked as a security guard at Park Central before retiring. He was a man of many talents, he was especially gifted as a farmer and rancher. Holland was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play football and going to their rodeos. Holland will be remembered as a kind man and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Ronnie Holland Cleaver.
Holland is survived wife, Phyllis Westbrook of the home; 6 children: Diann Irlbeck and husband Lester of Arlington, Sharon Cagle and husband Charles of Zavalla, Steve Westbrook and wife Janet of Claude, Terry Westbrook and wife Regina of Arlington, Jennifer Evans and husband Chad of Plains, and Earl Westbrook and wife Joeleen of Claude; 13 grandchildren, Shanna Gallegoes and husband Ben, Joseph Irlbeck, Rodney Irlbeck, Nicole Underwood and husband Josh, Eric Westbrook and girlfriend Tiffany Shuman, James Westbrook, Kent Westbrook, Aubrey DeFever and husband Ethan, Courtney Primeaux and husband Cody, Robert Evans, Lauren Brown and husband Devin, Evan Westbrook, and Judd Westbrook; and 7 great-grandchildren, Michaela Shuman, Ashlynn Westbrook, Victoria Westbrook, Rislynn Irlbeck, Madison Cleaver, Jordan Brittein, and William DeFever.
