Ronnie Richard

Ronnie Richard, 76, of Pampa passed away Thursday August 30, 2018 in Amarillo.

Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating.  Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Richard was born July 18, 1942 in Louisville, KY to Lawrence and Mary Richard.  He married Janie Nelson on November 21, 1961 in Big Spring, they have celebrated 56 years of marriage.  He faithfully served 8 years in the United States Air Force. Ronnie began his career with Cabot Corp. in Big Spring in 1972, transferred to the Pampa plant in 1980 and retired in 2005 after 33 years of service.  During his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and was an avid Texas Ranger fan.  Ronnie was known to be a prankster and to be a bit ornery.  He has been attending Briarwood Church since he moved to Pampa in 1980.  He loved spending time with his family and especially loved being “Papa” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Janie Richard of the home; son, Alan Richard of Pampa; daughter, Sherri Murray and husband Joe of Pampa; three grandchildren, Angela Bentley and husband Heath, Tera Lavrenz and husband Chris, and Zach Murray and wife Amy all of Pampa; 6 great grandchildren, Bryson Lavrenz, Bradlee Lavrenz, Aamori Bentley, Hayden Bentley, Ashtyn Bentley, and Harper Bentley.

Memorials can be made to Briarwood Church, 1800 W. Harvester, Pampa, Texas 79065.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
