Rose Marie Burklow

Rose Marie Burklow, 88, of Pampa, died peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018, from complications following surgery.

Cremation will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Per her request, no formal services will take place. The family will have a private memorial celebration honoring her life prior to the spreading of her ashes at a later date.

Rose Marie Burklow was born on June 1, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Rose Mary Evans. She married Russell Jenkins Burklow on August 15, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois.   The couple made their home in Chicago where Russell worked for Illinois Auto Electric as a comptroller and Rose Marie was an assistant manager for Zayre Department Store until moving to Fair Play, Missouri, in 1976 where the couple purchased a general store they called Bear Creek Country Corner. After the death of her husband on February 14, 1979, Rose Marie continued on with the store until moving to Kansas City in 1983. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1995. She enjoyed gardening and had a small business called Flower Beds Only by Rose Marie. She was also a volunteer for BSA Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed being with her family, being outdoors as well as fishing and camping. Rose Marie also enjoyed being actively involved in the Pam Apartment activities.

Rose Marie is survived by her son, Randy Burklow and wife Jacque, formerly of Pampa; her daughter, Christine Love of San Antonio; four grandsons, Randy Burklow Jr. and wife Robin of Beebe, Arkansas, Jason Burklow of Pampa, Nick Burklow and wife Abby of Amarillo, and Nathan Love of San Antonio; one granddaughter, Tiffany Love; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, John Evans and wife Sheila of Chicago, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her mother, Rose Mary Birge; her father, Joseph Evans; and a brother, Joseph Evans Jr.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jim Hall and Pampa EMS, Dr. Nguyen, Dr. Kamnani and Dr. Bobby Smith as well as the staff who cared for Rose Marie from the surgical, medical, respiratory and ICU departments of Pampa Regional Medical Center. Words do not adequately express the genuine care and concern that she as a patient and we as a family received from all who cared for her during her hospital stay.
