Roy Brian Allen

September 20, 1930 — April 30, 2019

Roy Brian Allen, 88, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Fredericksburg.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Allen was born September 20, 1930 in Brownfield to Claude and Birdie Allen.  He was a proud Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict from 1949-1952 and reenlisted in 1962 and served until 1965.  Roy married Annie Gray on June 1, 1952 in Suffolk, VA, she passed away on April 3, 2016.  He was a lifelong Baptist and has served as a deacon in several churches through the years.  Roy enjoyed wood working, reading, and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roy Brian Allen, II; three brothers, Claude Allen, Burt Allen, and Ed Allen; and a sister, Evelyn Haiduk.

Survivors include his two daughters, Evelyn Staffel and husband Bruce of Fredericksburg, and Kathy Cain and husband Don of Dallas; five grandchildren, Corrie Cain Zabela and husband David of Pittsburgh, PA, Kayla Cain Foltmer and husband Michael of Keller, David Staffel and wife Heather of Round Rock, Julie Staffel of Fredericksburg, and Nathan Staffel and wife Jennifer of Baltimore, MA; and six great-grandchildren.
