Ruth Stanley Swearingim, 81, of Sunset, formerly of Skellytown, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in Sunset.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 29, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Skellytown with Pastor Carter Pirtle, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Swearingim was born on August 21, 1939 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Ruth attended grade school and high school in White Deer. She worked in the Skellytown ISD cafeteria from 1982 until her retirement in 2001. As an adult Ruth lived in Dumas, Canadian, Payson, Arizona, Skellytown, and Sunset. She was an active member at the Cowboy Country Line Church in Sunset. Ruth was an avid bowler up until the time of her death. She enjoyed gambling and spending time with her family. Ruth was a great cook and baker.
She was preceded in death by a son, Monte Mitchell; a daughter-in-law, Julie Mitchell; and two brothers, Kenny Putman and Raymond Stanley.
Survivors include her two sons, Marte Mitchell and wife Fonda of Sunset and Robert Swearingim of Pampa; her daughter, Brenda Ruth Mitchell of Sunset; two brothers, Terry Putman and wife Suzie of Amarillo and Ronny Putman and wife Vicki of Farnsworth; 11 grandchildren, Scott, Brittany, Briana, Brittney, Kim, Jeanie, Callie, Zach, Madison, Cash, and Tucker; and 19 great-grandchildren.
