Ruthie Alexander, 72, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, in Pampa.
A memorial graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Ruthie was born on December 17, 1949, in Pampa to Walter and Lou Ann Davis. She attended school in Pampa and worked in Pampa for the first few years of her adult life. Her first job in Pampa was at the Marie Foundation. A few years later, she moved to Lubbock and worked at Texas Instruments. Then she moved to Amarillo and was there for a few years before moving back to Pampa. In Pampa, Ruthie attended cosmetology school and was a hairdresser until her early 40s.
In 1975, Ruthie met and married Bill Alexander. They shared 47 years of marriage together and loved each other very much. Ruthie was a housewife for most of their marriage. She enjoyed staying at home and liked to cook and babysit the grandsons when they were little. Ruthie was loved by her family and friends and will be missed very much.
Ruthie is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sondra Shultz; and three brothers, Walter (Bubba) Davis, Tommy Davis, and Kenny Davis.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Alexander of the home; son, Chris Engle and wife Toni of Pampa; two grandsons, Cole Engle of Pampa, and Cade Engle and wife Brittney of Amarillo; two sisters, Terri Miller and Shannon Williams; and many other extended family members.
