Ruthie Baird

Ruthie Baird, 86, of Pampa, passed away October 24, 2018 in Pampa.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Highland Baptist Church, with Rev. Paul Nachtigall, pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Baird was born May 11, 1932 in Detroit, Texas, to Dewey and Hallie Bullard.  She was a 1950 graduate of Dumas High School.  She married Robert G. “Bob” Baird on September 2, 1956 in Pampa.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2012.  Ruthie had been a member of Highland Baptist Church since 2003.  She retired from Cabot/Ingersol Rand after working in the accounting department for over 32 years.  She loved to shop, sitting outside on her porch, and she loved spending time with all her family. Ruthie especially loved being “Granny” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she will be remembered for making very detailed Christmas stockings for each of them. 

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Hillman and husband Lester, and Linda Searl and husband Paul, all of Pampa; a grandson, Adam Hillman and wife Courtney of Fort Worth; three granddaughters, Heidi Reynolds and husband Thomas, and Desiree Devoll and husband Roy, all of Pampa, and Staci Searl and Kevin Baldridge of Amarillo; five great granddaughters, Riley Devoll, Emma Searl, Hallie Reynolds, Bella Garcia and Zoe Reynolds; two great grandsons, Grayson Devoll and Archie Hillman; two sisters, Martha Maple of Pampa, and Ruby Owen and husband Dan of Roswell, New Mexico; a brother, George Bullard and wife Shirley of Wichita Falls; and many nieces and nephews.  Ruthie was also preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 PM Friday, October 26, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
