Ryan King

October 8, 1981 — March 25, 2025

Ryan Matthew King, 43, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be held at a later date when his wife, Dawn, is released from the hospital. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Ryan was born in Amarillo on October 8, 1981 to Sherry and Reggie "Bill" King. He was raised beside his cousins, who were more like siblings, Katie, Cody and Kacie. Ryan loved all of his grandparents, but he had a special relationship with his Nana, Jeanice Hyatt, whom he commemorated with a tattoo of her name. He was a hard worker and dedicated to his job. Ryan worked at Hunting Titan for over 19 years as a manual machinist, in which he became supervisor over the front shop and was well respected by his employees.

Ryan met the love and light of his life, Dawn Bentley, on July 4, 2003 at a fourth of July party, where they had been set up to meet each other. They knew they wanted to marry each other 2 weeks into the relationship and got married on November 7, 2003, becoming a family of 4. His first child, Braeden King, was born November 29, 1999 and he gained his second child by marriage, Avery Bentley, born August 1, 2001. They had their first child together, Graecen King, on May 7, 2005 and their final child, Kelsen King, on August 16, 2008.

Ryan was a lifelong Christian, renewing his faith every year. He was a lifelong Harley Davidson fan as well, whose memorabilia is still a staple in the house. He was very attached to his 1992 Chevy blazer, which he used to hand-wash and wax on weekends when he was younger. His children used to tease him by predicting the weather, as it always seemed to rain later the same day. Ryan had a love of music, was an amazing singer and loved to write songs to serenade Dawn. Ryan was a great artist and also had a love for tattoos.

Ryan was one of the most protective men towards his family and would do everything in his power to protect them. He cast an intimidating figure, but those who knew him knew he was an amazing man. His love for his family was unwavering. He loved being a grandparent, always wanting to see them, and his grandchildren adored him, their "Bo".

Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jake and Jeanice Hyatt; paternal grandparents, Reggie and Daisy King; uncles, Richard King, Jerry King, and Gary Hyatt.

Survivors include his wife Dawn of the home; children, Braeden King (25) and wife Aly, Avery Bentley (23), Graecen King (19), and Kelsen King (16); grandchildren, Kaesen King (3) and Leylani King (8 months); mother, Sherry Gray and husband Lee; father, Reggie “Bill” King; siblings, Kim Holman and Tracy Miller and husband Dan; close cousins, Katie Hoyler and husband Alex, Cody Hyatt and wife Erin, Kacie Holland and husband Jeff; nephews, Klay Miller and wife Alysia; nieces, Kamy Stewart and husband James and Kenna Miller, Krissy Linduff and husband Ryan; and numerous other great nieces and nephews and other close family that he loved.
