Sally Jo Turner, 67, of Pampa, passed away August 15, 2018 in Amarillo after a long illness. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Buck of Redeemer Pampa, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Turner was born March 10, 1951 in Marshall, Arkansas. She attended Frank Phillips College in Borger. Sally was a homemaker, a secretary, truck driver and welder. She met James Turner while working as a secretary in Amarillo. They have been together for 27 years, living in Pampa. Sally enjoyed volunteering at PAWS, taking care of the cats. She loved shopping, traveling and going to zoos. Survivors include her husband, James Turner of Pampa; a daughter, Daphne Smith of Saginaw; two sisters, Betty Grayson of Pampa and Fran Nichols and husband Alfred of Springtown; three grandchildren, Austin Stone of Pampa, Brittany Mayhue of Briar, and Chelsea Smith of Azle; 12 great grandchildren; two sons, James David Turner and Truman Joshua Turner, both of Springfield, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
