Scott Parks, 55, of Pampa, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at The Harbor Community Event Center in Pampa. This will be a time of fellowship and remembrance of Scott. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Viewing will begin on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Scott was born October 10, 1966 in Grand Haven, Michigan to Raymond and Barbara Parks. Being in a military family, they traveled around a lot while he was younger. He did attend schools in Pampa and later earned his associate degree from Amarillo College. Scott also was an accomplished locksmith, practicing in Oklahoma for several years. He has made Pampa his permanent home for the past 10 years. Scott worked as a millwright for IDFI for the last 4 years. His family was important to him, and he loved spending time with them, he especially loved being “PawPaw” to his grandchildren. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, shooting guns, throwing darts, and collecting knives. Scott had a great sense of humor, those that knew him, always could count on some type of joke from him. He was always willing to help others in need. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joann Baden; two brothers, Mark Parks and Bart Parks; two sisters, Debbie Parks and Kathy Parks; and a grandson, Cade Parks.
Survivors include his three daughters, Suzanne Groff and husband Kevin of Burr Oak, Michigan, Nikki Daughtry and husband Latham of Pampa, and Kayce Jones and husband Tristan of Sturgis, Michigan; two sisters, Valerie Peterson and Michelle Cole both of Borger; a “brother”, Harold Mobley of Coldwater, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Trip Clark and Ryder Daughtry both of Pampa, Kevin Groff, III, Blake Groff, Piper Groff, Aubree Jones, Makenzie Jones, and Morgan Griffith all of Michigan; several aunts and uncles which include his special uncle, Brad Smillie of Pampa; numerous cousins which include a special cousin, Clint Smillie of Pampa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
