Sharon Philpott Wright, 64, of Miami, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home in Miami.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Sharon was born on August 28, 1959 in Pampa to Donald and Barbara Loper Philpott. She attended school in Miami until her senior year when she attended Pampa High School. Sharon graduated from Pampa High School in 1977. After graduation, Sharon married Ronald Wright, Sr. and together they had two children, Angela and Jason. They later separated but remained good friends.
Sharon was a stay-at-home mother for several years before going to work for the railroad while living in Arizona. While living in Arizona, Sharon enjoyed coaching little league baseball. When she returned to Miami, she worked in the Roberts County Abstract Office until her retirement. After retirement, Sharon spent a great deal of her time taking care of her dog, Tinkerbell.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Barbara Philpott; her son, Jason Wright; her stepdaughter, Rhonda Jeanette Wright; the father of her children, Ronald Wright, Sr.; two sisters, Jon Ann Pigdon and Lynn Wright; and one great-grandson, Roman Marcus Burke.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Wright of Seymour; one sister, Janice Monds and husband Benny of Pampa; five grandchildren, Tiffany Wynns, Ashlei Shea Moya Wright, Sebastion Mabry, Rhonda Wright, and Walker Wright; one great-grandchild, Octavia Burke and one on the way; four stepsons, Ron Wright, Jr., Reginold Wright, Robert Wright, and Bobby Wright; her close friend, Monty Smith; and her constant companion, Tinkerbell.
