Shirley Davis

Shirley Davis, 86, of Pampa, passed away on December 10, 2022, at her home.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery with Dan Morrison, a family friend, eulogizing Shirley’s service. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Shirley will be available for viewing 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on January 6, 1936, in Chickasha, OK to Roy and Lillie Hunt. Her family moved to various towns with her family’s work until they settled in Kelton. She later met Raymond Davis and they married on December 1, 1952, in Wheeler. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Pampa and became long-time residents. Raymond preceded her in death in 2010 after almost 58 years of marriage.

Shirley enjoyed and took great pride working and maintaining her garden. She also liked all the crafts, doing needlepoint and crocheting. Shirley will be missed by all of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; and by six sisters.

Shirley is survived by a daughter, Shirlene Patterson and husband Danny of Tahoka; two sons, Eddie Davis and wife Lucretia of Wheeler, and Buster Davis and wife Maria of Pampa; a brother, Melvin Hunt and wife Cathy of Briscoe; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Wood and husband Michael of Canyon, and Chelsey Davis of Pampa; five grandsons, Thomas and Wendy Patterson of McLean, Kevin Patterson & Magan Lynch of Little Elm, Britton Davis of Bushland, Jeremy Davis of Edmond, OK, and Kris Davis and wife Julie of Haslet; a step-granddaughter, Kayla Withers and husband Nathan of Pampa; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Janet Hunt of Cleveland, TN, and Peggy Hunt of Wheeler; and by other extended family.
