Sonja Conway Dodge

Sonja Conway Dodge, 72, of Pampa, passed away February 20, 2019 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Dwight Dennis, officiating.  Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Childress Cemetery in Childress, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Dodge was born July 31, 1946 in Childress to Lou Edith and Raymond Conway.  She grew up and attended school in Childress.  After high school, she enrolled in cosmetology school and after graduation, she worked for several years in the cosmetology industry.  Sonja later met and married Dane Dodge on May 25, 1994 in Missouri.  She and Dane lived in Missouri a short time before moving to Pampa in 1996.  While in Pampa, Sonja worked in the service industry, and was a homemaker for most of her life.

Sonja was a multi-talented lady who excelled as a painter, sewer, musician, crafter, and quilter. Sonja was a genealogist and historian of the Conway family.  She was a giving and charitable woman who put others before herself.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, “Nene”, sister and friend.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Interim Hospice and the staff of Coronado Health Care for their loving care of Sonja. 

Survivors include her husband, Dane Dodge of the home; three daughters, Dondi Rothwell and husband Steven Scott of Lubbock, Daphne Ebenkamp and husband Kevin of Pampa, and  Darla Watson and husband Shawn of Pampa; son, Heath Rothwell and wife Sabrina of Childress; stepson, Dylan Dodge and wife Kacey of Joplin, Missouri; sister, Shirley Eudey of Bowie; grandchildren, Andrew Hatcher of Chicago, Illinois, Amber Harris and husband Cobran of Lubbock, Chance Vasquez of Romania, Hunter Watson of Mississippi, Gerrek Watson of Pampa, Stetson Rothwell of Canyon, Jacob Ebenkamp of Pampa, Kaeley Rothwell of Childress, Keelan Rothwell of Childress, Caleb Ebenkamp of Pampa, Dayton Dodge of Joplin, Missouri, Austynn Rothwell of Childress, and Dustin Dodge of Joplin, Missouri; an aunt, Imogene McMinn of Pampa; three stepbrothers, Roy McCain of Childress, David McCain and wife Dorinda of Dallas, and Don McCain and wife Carla of Weatherford; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. 

Sonja was preceded in death by her parents; by three brothers, Jerry Conway, Rusty Conway, and Fred McCain; by two sisters, RamiaLee Rothwell and Pauline Owens; and by an aunt, Luda Massie.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Friday, February 22, 2019, at the funeral home.
