Starla Hamilton

Starla Hamilton, 51, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 in Pampa. 

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2024 in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors with Rick Pearson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Starla was born on September 4, 1973 in Groom. She graduated from Lefors High School in 1992. After high school, she attended Frank Phillips College to get her basics and then transferred to WTAMU where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1998. On August 7, 1996 she married Shane Hamilton in Lefors, they celebrated over 28 years of marriage. 

Starla had a passion for helping others and that trait helped her become a great nurse. She worked at PRMC for over 12 years before she started working for Dr. Mohan. Starla worked in his clinic for many years until her health wouldn’t allow it in 2019. She loved her job and what she did for others. 

Starla enjoyed photography over the years. She has taken thousands of pictures and has won several art shows and had a piece that was featured on the front cover of Digital Photography Magazine. Starla loved to travel and always had her camera ready to capture the perfect picture. Her personality was fierce and sometimes she was very opinionated, but she would do anything for anyone she knew. Her family was so important to her. Skyler was her everything, she loved to watch him compete and grow to the man he is today. 

Starla was preceded in death by her father, Larry Gilbreath; her father-in-law, Glen Hamilton.

Survivors include her husband, Shane of the home; son, Skyler of Pampa; mother, Rhonda Gilbreath of Lefors; sister Amber Arnzen and husband Bryan of Pampa; mother-in-law, Gloria Hamilton; nieces, Kadence Arnzen, Alexandra Arnzen, and Kassandra Arnzen all of Pampa; and great nephew, Beckett Wayne Arnzen.
