Steven Frank Garrison, 62, of White Deer, passed away March 31, 2018 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church of White Deer with Pastor Alan Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow at White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Steven was born on June 8, 1955 in Pampa to Mattie and W. E. Garrison. Steven was raised and attended school in Skellytown. He later met the love of his life, Nancy Lavake in White Deer. They later reacquainted in Dallas and they would wed on December 15, 1978. Steven and Nancy remained in Dallas for four years before returning back to Texas panhandle to live in White Deer. Steven had a broad occupational history. He worked in agriculture and in the oil and gas industry. Steven worked for several different companies throughout the years that included: Wheeler-Evans Elevator, Wyvel, B&B Solvent, and Cabot. He later decided to work for himself where he and Nancy owned and operated the White Deer Parts & Supply and later would install Dish satellites with the help of his daughter, Monica. Steven was truly a “jack of all trades,” he was a great carpenter, and he could fix anything that was broken. His most favorite pastime was spending time with the Garden Crew. The Garden Crew would eventually grow large enough to help feed all of White Deer. When Steven could, he really enjoyed going deep sea fishing with Chuck Lay. Steven was a member of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother, Dale Haynes, and Nate Haynes and Judy Haynes. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Garrison of the home; his two daughters, Tashell Kingston and husband Jim of Hedley, and Monica Garrison and husband James Hammer of White Deer; his two grandsons, Coltin Kingston and Kaylee Shields of Newkirk, New Mexico, and Wyatt Hammer of White Deer; his granddaughter, Keira Smith of White Deer; five sisters, Wanda Rogers and husband Doug, and Wanell Hull and husband Mike, all of Skellytown, Shelley Dyer and husband Shane, and Ken McGuire, all of Pampa, and Shirley Powell and husband David of Atlanta, Georgia; six brothers, Walter Garrison and wife Beckie of Clovis, New Mexico, Doyle Garrison of Diana, Cory Garrison and wife Mary of Coahoma, Cody Garrison and wife C.C. of Snyder, Johnny Johnson and wife Sheila Marie of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ronnie Haynes and wife Dennie of Pampa and by his favorite companion (dog), Bailey; and numerous nieces, nephews other extended family members.
