Susan Toten, 76, of Pampa, passed away, July 23, 2021 at home with her family by her side.
Celebration of life funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
The vigil and rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.
Susan will be available for viewing from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday and 8:00AM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Susan was born on June 3, 1945, in Pampa to Florencia and Pedro Velasquez. She attended school and has been a lifelong resident of Pampa. Susan met the love of her life, William Toten while working at the Pampa Hospital and they later married on November 21, 1964 and they shared almost 51years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 3, 2014. As a young woman she worked at the Marie Foundation, and she later worked for Wal-Mart, a career that spanned over 30 years. Susan was a devout Catholic who was a strong member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking, but her family, especially her grandchildren, brought her the most joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and five brothers, Eufemio Velasquez, Joaquin Velasquez, Leo Velasquez, Mike Velasquez, and Raymundo Velasquez.
Her survivors include a daughter, Maria Zamora and son in law Manuel of El Paso; her son, Matt Toten and wife Tammy, of Ramona, CA; four grandsons, J.D. Pairish, Anthony Rios, Randall Toten and Ryan Toten; two granddaughters, Monica Mosley and Alyssah Zamora; three great-granddaughters, Dani Jo Pairsh, Hayden Pairsh, and Emma Mosley; two great-grandsons, J.W. Pairsh and Parker Mosley; three sisters, Florence Kimbley, Henrietta Yates, and Reynalda Salazar; two brothers, J. P. Velasquez and Ray Velasquez; and other extended family.
